We meet at Dual Sport Adventure (DSA) in Rustenburg, then we ride dirt and tar to Groot Marico, where we support the local meat and drinks places. Onwards to the Marico Eye where we swim and braai.
At our overnight spot, we light a fire, become nostalgic about past trips, and chat about our Experience. The next morning we take dirt roads homeward. This trip is Pillion-friendly.
Dirt farm roads and Tar roads.
Dirt Road Grading: Green with Orange to Orange 2 patches.

Day 1
The Experience is a 1-Nighter.
We meet early at Dual Sport Adventure (DSA) in Rustenburg and depart at 08:00. We head for the gravel roads towards Koster and then Groot Marico.
At Groot Marico, we find stores to stock up for the evening’s braai at our overnight spot. We can have lunch in town or get something to braai at the Marico Eye. We book in at our overnight accommodation and head for the Oog/Eye.
We visit Die Oog (entrance fee payable). It is the start of the Marico River, which eventually becomes the amazing Limpopo River that forms the northern border of the Kruger National Park. We can swim in the clear water; it’s an amazing sight!
At 16:00, we head for our accommodation. We braai and enjoy a Marico fire in the company of our adventure rider friends.

Day 2
We get up, head for Groot Marico or Swartruggens to find breakfast and then head home. What a great trip! And you can be back at work on Monday…..

Pillion riders can participate in the Dual Sport Adventure (DSA) Groot Marico Eye 1-Nighter Experience.
Adventure motorcycle riders with Beginner and Intermediate skill levels will enjoy the DSA Groot Marico Eye Adventure Riding Experience.
We expect the roads on the DSA Groot Marico Eye Adventure Riding 1-Nighter to be as follows:
Dirt – 65%
Tar – 35%
The DSA Groot Marico Eye Adventure Riding Trip takes place in the North West Province of South Africa. Did you know we travel through the UNESCO-designated Marico Biosphere Reserve?
