This is for the more experienced rider! We meet in Dwaalboom and ride to the start of the Limpopo River. From there we travel beside the Limpopo to Stockpoort. We fill up at Swartwater, take a pebbly gravel road and pass places such as Du Plessis, Saamwerk, Platjan, and Alldays. We ride at a relaxed pace to Pontdrift through Big 5 country looking out for elephants and other game. The next morning we ride along the river in the direction of Beitbridge and Musina for an early lunch. Then onwards along the Limpopo River as far east as allowed. On the way we see amazing Baobab trees and stay at Warmbaths for the final night.
Gravel farm roads with sandy and pebbly patches, as well as tar roads.
Day 1
We meet at 09:00 in Dwaalboom, fill up and head to the first overnight spot in the Stockpoort area. Experiencing interesting road surfaces, we stop at the point where the Limpopo River begins.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, we head towards Swartwater to fill up. Still riding along the Limpopo River, we pass places such as Du Plessis, the Zanzibar Border Post (now closed), Saamwerk Border Post, and Platjan Border Post. We reach the town of Alldays, where we have lunch and fill up. We proceed to the Pontdrift Border Post with our speed decreasing to approximately 60 km/h.
We continue riding next to the river but are now riding through the Mapungubwe National Park where you can see elephants and other game. We overnight at a Lodge and experience the Northern Bushveld.
Day 3
The next morning, we follow the Limpopo River to Beitbridge, where we fill up. We ride to Musina for an early lunch and then follow the Limpopo River as far east as we are allowed. We visit the Sagole Big Tree (Baobab) in Vendaland and proceed to our last night’s accommodation at Tshipise.
Day 4
We head home.
